Ilmainen aamiainen (Free Breakfast) in Hakaniemi, Helsinki, was an open space, a place for anyone to “drop in for breakfast”, a question of chance to be present, unanticipated meetings, living situation. People came for a coffee, for a chat. The situations became meetings around coffee tables; people would talk with each other about daily affairs. Through my work I wanted to approach, to meet the person as a human being, close to everyday life, bring together people from different social backgrounds and ages, to see them as equal.
